The incident forced the evacuation of the Federal Aviation Administration control center in Aurora, Illinois, and severely snarled air traffic on Friday, when an estimated 2,100 flights were canceled at major airports across the country. ...




Al Qaeda-linked militants in Yemen say fire rocket towards U.S. embassy

SANAA (Reuters) - An al Qaeda splinter group said it launched a rocket towards the U.S. embassy in Sanaa on Saturday, wounding several guards, to retaliate for a purported U.S. drone strike in a northern province of Yemen the day before. The U.S. State Department said it had no indication that the embassy was the target of the attack and that none of its staff were wounded. The rocket landed 200 metres from the heavily fortified embassy, hitting members of the Yemeni special police force who guard the site. At least two were wounded, police said. ...

At least 22 killed in Guinea-Bissau after vehicle hits landmine

BISSAU (Reuters) - At least 22 people were killed in Guinea-Bissau when a vehicle taking them to a funeral struck a landmine, a police source said on Saturday. The incident happened on Friday afternoon near Mansoa, about 60 km (37 miles) northeast of the capital, Bissau.
