Gilead licenses hepatitis C drug to Cipla, Ranbaxy, five others

CAIRO (Reuters) - A leading Egyptian activist, charged with violating a law that seeks to curtail protests, was released on bail on Monday and will have his case transferred to another court. Alaa Abdel Fattah was a leading secular figure in the 2011 revolt that toppled former president Hosni Mubarak. Abdel Fattah has already been convicted in absentia in June over the charges, and was given a 15-year prison sentence. South Africa probes two Nigerians, Israeli over $9.3 mln cash seizure

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South African police are investigating two Nigerians and an Israeli citizen who tried to bring $9.3 million in cash into the country illegally, a spokesman said on Monday, in what might have been part of an arms deal. The South African Revenue Service (SARS) seized the funds at Lanseria airport, northwest of Johannesburg, on Sept. 5. Australia probes "threats" against hospitals days after stepping up terror alert
