Crude bomb blast kills woman in Bengaluru

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - A crude bomb exploded outside a busy restaurant in India's high-tech capital of Bengaluru on Sunday, killing a woman and wounding a man, police said. The low-intensity blast occurred in the centre of Bengaluru packed with Sunday evening crowds, prompting a security alert in other cities. Police said the improvised explosive device had been placed between two flower-pots near the Coconut Grove restaurant. Police commissioner M.N.Reddy said nobody had yet claimed responsibility for the blast. "Essentially, it was aimed at causing panic and fear," Reddy told reporters. ...

"We're pleased to offer 'The Interview' for rental or purchase on the iTunes Store," Apple spokesman Tom Neumayr said in a statement. The news comes after Sony Pictures released the movie online via Google Inc's YouTube and Google Play, Microsoft Corp's Xbox gaming console and a Sony dedicated website last week. Islamic State executed nearly 2,000 people in six months - monitor

BEIRUT (Reuters) - The Islamic State militant group has killed 1,878 people in Syria during the past six months, the majority of them civilians, a British-based Syrian monitoring organisation said on Sunday. Islamic State also killed 120 of its own members, most of them foreign fighters trying to return home, in the last two months, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The militant group has taken vast parts of Iraq and Syria and declared a caliphate in territory under its control in June. ...
