 By Krisztina Than BUDAPEST (Reuters) - A 93-year-old former senior Hungarian Communist Party official convicted of war crimes last year will face a new trial after a higher court on Monday annulled his jail sentence, saying the verdict against him was unsubstantiated. In May 2014, Bela Biszku was convicted of war crimes over shootings of civilian protesters after the 1956 uprising that was crushed by Soviet tanks. A Budapest court of first instance sentenced him to five-and-a-half years' imprisonment.

"The government is checking their identity, asking what they want to do and where they want to go," government spokesman Ye Htut told Reuters, without providing further details of the boat's location. "Usually, most of them want to go back to Bangladesh, so we will arrange according to their wishes." Government officials have been tight-lipped about the identities of 727 migrants on the overcrowded fishing boat, found drifting and taking on water early Friday, as well as their eventual destination. |

 Police in Bangladesh on Monday filed the first formal murder charges against the owner of a building that collapsed in 2013, killing more than 1,130 people in the country's worst industrial disaster. The collapse of Rana Plaza, built on swampy ground outside the capital, Dhaka, ranks amongst the world's worst industrial accidents, and sparked an outcry for greater safety in the world's second-largest exporter of ready-made garments. In all, 42 people were charged over the disaster, a rare step in a country where critics complain that powerful garment industry bosses often go unpunished for factory accidents.

With a population of just 900,000, Fiji is famous for punching above its weight in international rugby but remains a minnow in global soccer, its men's team a lowly 196th out of the 209 nations in world rankings. It would also have been unthinkable without FIFA's financial help in funding development projects, according to Fiji Football Association chief executive Bob Kumar.

| Turkey's Erdogan vows to punish journalist behind Syria trucks video |

 Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has vowed to punish the editor of a newspaper which published video footage it said showed the MIT state intelligence agency helping send weapons to Syria. "The individual who has reported this as an exclusive story will pay a high price for this," Erdogan said in a television interview with state broadcaster TRT late on Sunday. "I will not let this go." Reuters reported on May 21 that witnesses and prosecutors have alleged that MIT helped deliver arms to parts of Syria under Islamist rebel control during late 2013 and early 2014, quoting a prosecutor and court testimony from gendarmerie officers.
