"The RSP's countless disruptions are a serious attack on the Republic and its institutions," Moumina Cheriff Sy said in a statement sent to journalists, confirming reports that cabinet members had been detained during a meeting. White House won't give details on possible measures against China on cyber spying

U.S. President Barack Obama delivers remarks at the   Business Roundtable offices in WashingtonThe White House on Wednesday would not give details on President Barack Obama's comments that the United States is preparing countervailing actions against China for engaging in industrial espionage and stealing trade secrets over the Internet. White House spokesman Josh Earnest said Obama was "intentionally non-specific" in the comments but added that the economic sanctions the United States has used over cyber espionage have had a deterrent effect. While speaking to the Business Roundtable, Obama had said that his administration is preparing measures that "will put significant strains on a bilateral relationship" but that he hoped the measures would not have to be used.




Canada government to press for ban on veil at citizenship ceremonies

A federal appeals court on Tuesday found the ban on veils such as the niqab was unlawful. The case was brought by Zunera Ishaq, an immigrant from Pakistan who refused to take part in a citizenship ceremony because it meant she could not wear a niqab and would have to show her face.




Pakistani police accuse former air force pilot of helping al Qaeda

Yemeni government returns to Aden after months in exile - spokesman

By Mohammed Mukhashaf ADEN, Yemen (Reuters) - Yemeni Prime Minister Khaled Bahah returned to the southern port of Aden on Wednesday in a step towards restoring a government on home soil after months of working from exile with Gulf Arab allies to combat Houthi domination of the country. Government spokesman Rajeh Badi said Bahah, who is also vice president, was accompanied by seven ministers when he arrived in Aden, which loyalist fighters backed by Saudi-led troops recaptured from Iranian-allied Houthi forces in July. "Khaled Bahah and the ministers who arrived with him are in Aden to stay permanently," Badi said.


Hardline Hindu arrested in connection with Indian secularist's murder

Police on Wednesday arrested a member of a right-wing Hindu group for his alleged role in the murder of a social activist who had criticised organisations associated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's nationalist party. Sameer Gaikwad and his group are not affiliated with the ruling party but his arrest comes at a time when hardline Hindu activists attached to Modi's party have openly declared India to be a nation of Hindus. The suspect is a member of the Sanatan Sanstha, a small group that promotes Hindu philosophy in western India.
