3:34:14 PM
By Mohammed Mukhashaf ADEN, Yemen (Reuters) - Yemeni Prime Minister Khaled Bahah returned to the southern port of Aden on Wednesday in a step towards restoring a government on home soil after months of working from exile with Gulf Arab allies to combat Houthi domination of the country. Government spokesman Rajeh Badi said Bahah, who is also vice president, was accompanied by seven ministers when he arrived in Aden, which loyalist fighters backed by Saudi-led troops recaptured from Iranian-allied Houthi forces in July. "Khaled Bahah and the ministers who arrived with him are in Aden to stay permanently," Badi said.

Police on Wednesday arrested a member of a right-wing Hindu group for his alleged role in the murder of a social activist who had criticised organisations associated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's nationalist party. Sameer Gaikwad and his group are not affiliated with the ruling party but his arrest comes at a time when hardline Hindu activists attached to Modi's party have openly declared India to be a nation of Hindus. The suspect is a member of the Sanatan Sanstha, a small group that promotes Hindu philosophy in western India.

The new leader of Britain's opposition Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn waves as he aknowledges applause before addressing the Trade Union Congress (TUC) in Brighton in southern EnglandBy William James LONDON (Reuters) - The new leader of Britain's opposition Labour Party, veteran leftist Jeremy Corbyn, confronted Prime Minister David Cameron in parliament for the first time on Wednesday and said the house's raucous weekly question-and-answer session should be less theatrical and more about hearing ordinary people's voices. Kicking off with questions on unaffordable housing, mental health and welfare, Corbyn's low-key performance did little to ruffle Cameron, who gave detailed answers in an unusually muted manner. Corbyn, elected Labour Party leader at the weekend, shrugged off a reference by Cameron to a World War Two remembrance service on Tuesday where he was criticised for not singing the national anthem.

Jordan's Prince Zeid al-Hussein High Commissioner for Human Rights attends news conference at UN in GenevaBy Stephanie Nebehay GENEVA (Reuters) - Victims and activists welcomed a U.N. call on Wednesday for Sri Lankan state forces and Tamil Tigers to face prosecution for alleged war crimes, including mass killings of civilians, by a special court with international judges. Despite pledges by the new government of President Maithripala Sirisena to pursue perpetrators, the criminal justice system was not up to the huge task alone, said the report by the United Nations human rights office. "We hope ... that the security services will understand there must be a sort of reckoning with the past and there must be accountability," U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra'ad Al-Hussein told reporters.

Photo illustration of cans of Foster's beer in SydneyBy Philip Blenkinsop and Kate Holton BRUSSELS/LONDON (Reuters) - Anheuser-Busch InBev has approached rival SABMiller about a takeover that would form a brewing colossus which makes around a third of the beer consumed globally. Belgium's AB InBev - the world's biggest brewer - makes Budweiser, Stella Artois and Corona, while Britain-based SABMiller - the No. 2 player - owns Peroni, Grolsch and Pilsner Urquell beers. A merged group would have a market value of around $275 billion, based on current prices, and would combine AB InBev's dominance of Latin America with SABMiller's strong presence in Africa, both fast-growing markets, as well as their breweries in Asia.

Thousands of demonstrators gathered in the rain, chanting "Scrap the war bills now" near parliament, where Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was to join final debate on an upper house panel. Protesters jostled with police, who blocked them from swarming into the street with lines of vans.
