Gunfire erupts in Florida gay nightclub, 'multiple' people injured - police

Shooting erupted at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida early on Sunday and "multiple" people have been injured, police said. The violence broke out at the Pulse nightclub, Orlando police said on Twitter, advising people to "stay away from area." Local media reported that from seven to as many as 20 people had been shot in the incident, but had no further details. Police said on Twitter they had carried out a "controlled explosion" at the club hours after the shooting broke out, but did not say why that was done.

CIA Director Brennan speaks at the State Department   in WashingtonCIA chief John Brennan said on Sunday he expects 28 classified pages of a U.S. congressional report into the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the United States to be published, absolving Saudi Arabia of any responsibility. People shouldn't take them as evidence of Saudi complicity in the attacks," Brennan said in an interview with Saudi-owned Arabiya TV, according to a transcript provided by the network. The withheld section of the 2002 report is central to a dispute over whether Americans should be able to sue the Saudi government, a key U.S. ally, for damages.




Kazakhstan says all Islamist attack suspects detained

ALMATY (Reuters) - Kazakh security forces detained three men on Sunday suspected of being Islamist militants linked to deadly attacks a week earlier in the city of Akrobe, the National Security Committee said. Everyone linked to the June 5 attacks had now been detained or neutralised, it added, without going into further detail. At least 25 people including 18 attackers died during the assaults on a national guard base and firearms shops, and in the subsequent manhunt. ...


Russian Football Union will probably be fined after Marseille clashes - R-Sport

MOSCOW (Reuters) - The Russian Football Union will probably by fined by UEFA for the behaviour of Russian fans in Marseille, Russia's Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said on Sunday, R-Sport news agency reported. "We will have a fine from UEFA, so I understand. We behaved incorrectly," Mutko said, adding that Russian officials will investigate what happened and there were "many nuances".
