| Two killed, two wounded at rap concert in Connecticut - media | | | (Reuters) - Two people were shot and killed and two others were wounded on Friday after a rap concert in southern Connecticut, local media reported. Gunfire erupted at about 11:15 p.m. local time following a Meek Mill rap concert at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, Connecticut, about 90 miles (145 km) northeast of New York City, the My Record Journal newspaper reported. A video posted on Twitter purportedly showed rapper Meek Mill leaving the concert hall moments before gunfire rang out and a man, who appeared to be a police officer, telling people to "get down." Police did not have anyone in custody, the newspaper said. |
| India halts funding of Olympic association for honouring Kalmadi, Chautala | |  The Indian Olympic Association's (IOA) move to honour two controversial administrators has infuriated the government with the sports ministry cutting off funding and the use of other facilities extended to the body. The IOA named its former presidents Suresh Kalmadi and Abhay Singh Chautala as life presidents on Tuesday, a decision that has been heavily criticised after both are facing allegations of corruption. Kalmadi spent nine months in jail after the allegations, stemming from the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

| China says "Sky Net" campaign recovers $331 mln in corruption losses | |  China has recovered 2.3 billion yuan ($331.27 million) in losses from graft in the first 11 months of this year from across more than 70 different regions and countries, the country's corruption watchdog said on its official website on Saturday. The news comes after Beijing shifted the focus of its corruption campaign to recover illicit funds taken overseas as part of the country's multi-agency "Sky Net" campaign launched in 2014. The commission added that it would strengthen its campaign by tightening co-ordination, doubling-down on "Sky Net 2016" by focusing on key countries and cases and increase international cooperation.

Officer Sergio Moreira, 29, confessed to police on Friday that he killed the ambassador late Monday night in the Rio de Janeiro home the Amiridises owned in Nova Iguaçu, a hardscrabble neighbourhood in the city's sprawling, violent northern outskirts.

| South Korea court issues arrest warrant for pension chief in corruption scandal | | | A South Korean court issued an arrest warrant for the head of the national pension fund, the world's third largest, early on Saturday in a corruption scandal that has led to President Park Geun-hye's impeachment, an official said. A special prosecutor probing the wide-reaching scandal has sought the arrest of the National Pension Service (NPS) Chairman Moon Hyung-pyo on charges of abuse of power and perjury. The Seoul Central District Court issued the warrant saying evidence supported the charges against Moon, an official at the court said but did not provide further details. |
