China mum on diplomat's whereabouts amid Japan spying report

BEIJING (Reuters) - China's Foreign Ministry refused to say on Wednesday where its ambassador to Iceland was or who was even representing Beijing in the country, following reports he had been arrested by state security for passing secrets to Japan. New York-based Chinese language portal Mingjing News reported on Tuesday that Chinese ambassador to Iceland Ma Jisheng and his wife had been taken away by Chinese state security earlier this year. It said Ma was suspected of becoming a Japanese spy while working in the Chinese embassy in Tokyo between 2004 and 2008. ...

The younger Chan, a 32-year-old actor and singer, was arrested in Beijing after testing positive for marijuana and police said they found 100 grams of the drug at his home. Local media reported that an influential imam of the Grand Mosque in the capital, Pristina, was among those arrested, as was the leader of an Islamic-rooted political party. OCA throws Iran official out of Asiad

The OCA said in a statement on Wednesday that Amereh Ahmad, who looked after the equipment for the Iran soccer team, had been banned from all Asian Games sites, including the athletes village, venues and hotels. South Korea arrests American trying to swim to North Korea - report

SEOUL (Reuters) - South Korean marines arrested an American man late on Tuesday who had been swimming in a river that flows towards North Korea and said he had been trying to go to the North to meet its leader, Korean media reported.
