China official hangs himself after being sacked in graft probe - Xinhua

BEIJING (Reuters) - An official in eastern China hanged himself on Thursday after being sacked following a corruption probe into his presence at an extravagant banquet, state media said on Thursday, offering a rare explanation following a spate of suicides by bureaucrats. Lou Xuequan, 50, had been Communist Party chief of a district in Nanjing city, the state-run Xinhua news agency reported, citing a government statement. BENGHAZI Libya (Reuters) - Libya's elected parliament has rejected the new cabinet of Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thinni, a parliamentary spokesman said on Thursday. Lawmakers demanded Thinni submit a new cabinet with not more than 10 ministers, Faraj Hashim said. Thinni had on Wednesday presented a cabinet with 16 ministers. Thinni, a former career soldier, has been the oil producer's acting prime minister since March.
