Kosovo makes arrests in new push to stem flow of fighters to Syria, Iraq

By Fatos Bytyci PRISTINA (Reuters) - Police in Kosovo arrested 15 people on Wednesday, including a number of imams, in the second major operation in weeks to stem the flow of young ethnic Albanians joining Islamist fighters in Iraq and Syria, a police source said. Local media reported that an influential imam of the Grand Mosque in the capital, Pristina, was among those arrested, as was the leader of an Islamic-rooted political party. OCA throws Iran official out of Asiad

By Peter Rutherford SEOUL (Reuters) - The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has thrown an Iranian official out of the Asian Games after South Korean police charged him with sexual harassment, while a Palestine soccer player has been charged with the same offence and banned from leaving the country. The OCA said in a statement on Wednesday that Amereh Ahmad, who looked after the equipment for the Iran soccer team, had been banned from all Asian Games sites, including the athletes village, venues and hotels. South Korea arrests American trying to swim to North Korea - report

SEOUL (Reuters) - South Korean marines arrested an American man late on Tuesday who had been swimming in a river that flows towards North Korea and said he had been trying to go to the North to meet its leader, Korean media reported. South Korean marines guarding the Han river, which flows into an estuary and meets the North's Imjin river, found the man lying on the river bank, apparently suffering from exhaustion, the South's Yonhap news agency said, citing a South Korean government official. ...
