JPMorgan denies NY Times report that its computer system was hacked

JPMorgan Chase trader Frederick Reimer works in the   company's stall on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange(Reuters) - JPMorgan Chase & Co denied a report in the New York Times on Thursday that its computer system had been breached for the second time in about three months. "The story is false. We are not aware of any new attack," JPMorgan spokeswoman Patricia Wexler said in an email. The newspaper corrected its story to say that the earlier version of the headline misstated the extent of the cyber security issues at the bank. "While the bank found evidence of previously unknown hacking, it says the latest discovery does not constitute a breach separate from an earlier one," NY Times said. ...

Turkish Parliament convenes to vote on a motion in   AnkaraANKARA (Reuters) - The Turkish parliament approved a motion on Thursday enabling the government to authorise cross-border military incursions into Iraq and Syria to battle Islamic State militants, although there was little sign that such action was imminent. The motion, approved by a three-quarters majority, also allows foreign soldiers to be stationed in Turkey and to use its military bases for the same purposes. Myanmar worker admits to British murders in Thailand - police

BANGKOK (Reuters) - A Myanmar man has confessed to the murder of two British tourists in Thailand, police said on Thursday, after pressure to solve a case that the government fears will damage Thailand's tourist industry. The bodies of Hannah Witheridge, 23, and David Miller, 24, were found on Sept. 15 with severe head wounds near where they were staying on the southern island of Koh Tao, known for its coral reefs and diving. The island has a large community of migrant workers from neighbouring Myanmar, also know as Burma. ...
