| Dutch prosecutors: fragments from MH17 site may be from Russian-made missile | |  Dutch prosecutors from a joint international criminal investigation into the 2014 downing of flight MH17 in eastern Ukraine say some of the debris recovered from the site may belong to a Russian-made missile system. The Netherlands' national prosecutor's office said that the fragments, possibly from a BUK surface-to-air missile system, were in the possession of the Dutch Safety Board, which is conducting the civilian investigation into the crash. MH17 crashed over territory held by pro-Russian rebels in July 2014, killing all 298 aboard, mostly Dutch citizens.

A spokesman for the Greek coastguard, Nikolaos Lagadianos, said it "categorically denied" the allegations, saying an incident had taken place off the Turkish town of Bodrum, further south, but that the Greek authorities had not been involved. Most are travelling to Greek islands in the Aegean from the nearby Turkish mainland.

The appearance of the four men, all white, quickly drew stares in the mostly black neighborhood, which exploded into violence again on Sunday night as protesters marked the police killing of an unarmed black teen a year ago. The men identified themselves as part of a group called "Oath Keepers," which describes itself as an association of current and former U.S. soldiers and police who aim to protect the U.S. Constitution.

| Murder probe casts shadow over comeback bid by Sri Lanka's Rajapaksa | |  By Shihar Aneez and Douglas Busvine COLOMBO (Reuters) - The exhumation of the remains of a star rugby player whose death is now the target of a murder investigation has cast a shadow over former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's comeback bid at Sri Lanka's general election next week. Rajapaksa, 69, has denied allegations by the government that Wasim Thajudeen was tortured to death in May 2012 by members of his security team and did not die in a car crash as reported at the time. Rajapaksa, who has set his sights on becoming Sri Lanka's next prime minister, said the investigation was timed to coincide with the Aug. 17 elections.
