 By Emily Stephenson WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A county clerk in Kentucky who was briefly jailed for refusing to issue marriage licenses to gay couples said on Friday that she and her family have switched to the Republican Party because the Democrats no longer represented them. Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis, 50, who has said her beliefs as an Apostolic Christian prevent her from issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, said they had changed parties last week.

 By Matt Spetalnick and Michael Martina WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama announced on Friday that he had reached a "common understanding" with Chinese President Xi Jinping on curbing economic cyber espionage, but threatened to impose U.S. sanctions on Chinese hackers who persist with cyber crimes. The two leaders also unveiled a deal to build on a landmark emissions agreement struck last year, outlining new steps they will take to deliver on pledges they made then to slash their greenhouse gas emissions. Speaking after White House talks during Xi's first U.S. state visit, Obama quickly homed in on the thorniest dispute between the world's two biggest economies - growing U.S. complaints about Chinese hacking of government and corporate databases, and the suspicion in Washington that Beijing is sometimes behind it.

 By Marty Graham SAN DIEGO (Reuters) - A California man who as a child actor voiced the cartoon character Charlie Brown was charged on Friday with threatening a judge, a witness and the San Diego County sheriff at a court hearing meant to sentence him for other charges. Peter Robbins, 59, had faced up to three years and two months in state prison for violating his probation after he earlier admitting charges of stalking and making threats. Robbins cried through the hearing, according to Deputy District Attorney Brenda Daly.
