South Korean President Park Geun-Hye speaks during an address to the nation, at the presidential Blue House in SeoulBy Ju-min Park SEOUL (Reuters) - South Korean President Park Geun-hye cannot be questioned by Tuesday as prosecutors have requested, her lawyer said, as she resists growing calls to resign over an influence scandal that has engulfed her administration. Park is under intense pressure to step down over the crisis involving a close friend accused of meddling in state affairs, with the main opposition party seeking to put an impeachment motion up for a vote as soon as Friday. Park's lawyer, Yoo Yeong-ha, said in a text message that the president had to deal with the "fast-moving situation" and so there was little time for her to cooperate with prosecutors, who had asked to question her by Tuesday.

Philippine police conducted a controlled detonation of a home-made bomb found in a trash bin near the U.S. embassy in Manila on Monday and said militants sympathetic to Islamic State could have been responsible. "We could theorise that they could use this as a diversion," dela Rosa told a news conference.

Approval ratings for Turnbull had fallen to 46 percent by Nov. 17, the Fairfax poll showed, a fall of 4 percentage points from the previous survey in June. With support dwindling, Turnbull has sought to demonstrate his leadership by pushing through several laws that were the centrepiece of his narrow election win in July.

Trump, without evidence, says illegal voting cost him U.S. popular vote

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump gestures from the front door at the main clubhouse at Trump National Golf Club in BedminsterBy Roberta Rampton and Dustin Volz PALM BEACH, Fla./WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said in a tweet on Sunday that he won the popular vote in the Nov. 8 election "if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally", though he provided no evidence of widespread voter fraud. The allegation by Trump, who won the required votes in the Electoral College to secure the presidency, comes as Democratic rival Hillary Clinton's lead in the popular vote over Trump has surpassed 2.0 million votes and is expected to grow to more than 2.5 million as ballots in populous states such as California continue to be tallied. Clinton's legal team said on Saturday it had agreed to participate in a recount of Wisconsin votes after the state's election board approved the effort requested by Green Party candidate Jill Stein, which Trump has called "ridiculous." "In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally," the Republican Trump tweeted as reporters waited for him to leave his Mar-a-Lago golf resort in Florida to fly back to his residence in New York City.
