(Reuters) - St. Louis County Police released a video on Tuesday that they said shows a suspect, who has been accused of firing on police, drawing a pistol from his pants during protests in strife-torn Ferguson, Missouri. Tyrone Harris, 18, was shot by police and is in critical condition. The incident occurred on Sunday in the St. Louis suburb where largely peaceful demonstrations over police shootings of unarmed black men have been punctuated by violence.

| | (Reuters) - A 13-year-old dog was found beaten to death at a home in the Miami area with a handwritten note taped to it that read: "WE BEAT IT 2 Death lol! :) HAHAHA!," police said on Tuesday. The Pomeranian was found at the back of a home in the small southeast Florida city of Pembroke Pines, police said in a statement. Although officers saw no visible injuries on the dog, the police statement said, a veterinarian at the Saint Francis Animal Hospital determined the canine suffered multiple bone fractures "consistent with blunt force trauma." The Pembroke Pines Police Department said the dog-beating appeared to be an isolated incident and there was no evidence to suggest other animals in the area were in danger. |

|  Two British police officers are helping to patrol some of the most raucous resorts on Spain's Balearic Islands this month in an attempt to encourage British holidaymakers there to behave themselves. The Balearics are among the most popular foreign holiday destinations for British holidaymakers in search of reliably hot weather. The British embassy in Madrid said the police officers, a sergeant and a constable from the West Midlands force in central England, would patrol in Magaluf on the island of Mallorca this week and San Antonio on Ibiza next week.

Chung, a former FIFA vice president and fierce critic of outgoing president Sepp Blatter, told Reuters last month that he would enter the race and that he would make the announcement in Europe, what he called "the centre of world football". "Paris has been chosen as the venue for the announcement as it is the birthplace of FIFA and the campaign is focused on reviving the original spirit of football's governing body," Chung's office told Reuters on Wednesday.

Clinton's use of her private email for her work as America's top diplomat came to light in March and drew fire from political opponents who accused her of sidestepping transparency and record-keeping laws. For months, Republican lawmakers have demanded that Clinton relinquish the server for inspection by an independent party, which Clinton said she was not willing to do.

A Hong Kong police senior inspector, Bruce Hung, said undercover police officers had used a mobile phone app to hail five cars and arrested the drivers after being driven to their destinations. Harold Li, Uber spokesman for North Asia, said Uber stood by its "driver-partners 100 percent" and welcomed the chance to work with authorities "towards updated regulations that put the safety and interests of riders and drivers first".

Another jailed former opposition mayor, Antonio Ledezma, was in April granted house arrest due to medical problems.

The U.N. mission, set up to maintain stability as the country struggles to emerge from two years of inter-religious violence, was already facing allegations of abuse, as are French soldiers and a previous African peacekeeping force. The incidents evoked by Amnesty occurred on Aug. 2 and 3 following an armed clash between soldiers from the MINUSCA mission and residents of Bangui's PK5 Muslim enclave in which one Cameroonian soldier was killed and nine others were injured. |
| Dutch prosecutors - fragments from MH17 site may be from Russian-made missile | |  By Toby Sterling AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Some of the debris recovered from the crash site of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in eastern Ukraine may be fragments of a Russian-made missile system, Dutch prosecutors leading an international investigation said on Tuesday. MH17 crashed over territory held by pro-Russian rebels in July 2014, killing all 298 aboard, who were mostly Dutch citizens. "The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) investigates several parts, possibly originating from a Buk surface-air-missile system," a statement from prosecutors said.
