CAIRO (Reuters) - An Egyptian court confirmed a 20-year prison sentence against former president Mohamed Mursi on Saturday, judicial sources told Reuters. It is the first final verdict against Mursi on charges arising from the killing of protesters during demonstrations in 2012. Mursi, Egypt's first democratically elected president, faces charges in other cases including leaking secrets to Qatar, conspiring with the Palestinian militant group Hamas to destabilize Egypt, and organizing a jailbreak during the 2011 uprising against Hosni Mubarak. ...

(Reuters) - Preliminary analysis has found that a white substance that prompted the evacuation of Hillary Clinton's campaign headquarters in Brooklyn, New York, was not harmful, police said on Saturday. The substance arrived through the mail at Clinton's campaign office in Manhattan, and was transported to the headquarters in Brooklyn Heights, police said. The floor was evacuated as a precaution, and several people were exposed to the substance.

| A Belgian shopping centre was evacuated on Saturday after three masked robbers, armed with at least one Kalashnikov rifle, burst into a jewellery store in Chatelineau, 50 km (35 miles) south of Brussels, police said. Police escorted dozens of shoppers out of the Cora mall, some of whom confused the sound of glass jewellery display cases being smashed with that of gunfire, police commissioner Eric De Brabander said. | CAIRO (Reuters) - A senior military official who served in the northern Sinai was killed on Saturday in front of his home on the outskirts of Cairo, security sources said. Gunmen opened fire on Brigadier General Adel Rajaaie, an armored division commander, when he left his home in Obour city in the morning, the sources told Reuters Egypt is facing an Islamist insurgency led by Islamic State's branch in North Sinai, where hundreds of soldiers and police have been killed. Thailand's government met with representatives from Internet giant Google, amid growing calls from Thai hardline royalists to bring those who insult the monarchy to justice, as many Thais look with uncertainty to a future without their revered king. King Bhumibol Adulyadej's death on Oct. 13 has thrown the country of 67 million into mourning. It has also led to the rise of ultra-royalist vigilante groups who say they will punish anyone perceived to have insulted the monarchy during a highly sensitive time for Thailand.
