| CAIRO (Reuters) - A senior military official who served in the northern Sinai was killed on Saturday in front of his home on the outskirts of Cairo, security sources said. Gunmen opened fire on Brigadier General Adel Rajaaie, an armored division commander, when he left his home in Obour city in the morning, the sources told Reuters Egypt is facing an Islamist insurgency led by Islamic State's branch in North Sinai, where hundreds of soldiers and police have been killed. Thailand's government met with representatives from Internet giant Google, amid growing calls from Thai hardline royalists to bring those who insult the monarchy to justice, as many Thais look with uncertainty to a future without their revered king. King Bhumibol Adulyadej's death on Oct. 13 has thrown the country of 67 million into mourning. It has also led to the rise of ultra-royalist vigilante groups who say they will punish anyone perceived to have insulted the monarchy during a highly sensitive time for Thailand.

| A Belgian shopping centre was evacuated on Saturday after a man opened fire with a Kalashnikov rifle in a store in Chatelineau, 50 km (35 miles) south of Brussels, Belgian media reported. There were conflicting reports on the number of assailants, with RTL News citing the police commissioner as saying several gunmen were inside the store. The campaign headquarters for U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was evacuated on Friday night after a white substance was discovered in an envelope, police said. The substance was first discovered by two interns at a campaign office in Manhattan and was taken to Clinton's Brooklyn headquarters, triggering the evacuation of the 11th floor, a New York Police Department spokesman said.
